On poem '' Devils' Duel ''

Jeff Cannon- - - - - - - - Abdul Wahab, maybe we can be on the fronts lines, maybe some of us like myself may not, yet may our words be fire food for those blocking roads, camping in trees, marching and getting beat up, maced and imprisoned, for those on the ocean saving whales from harpooners, those stopping dam building, those protesting with their lives all sorts of atrocities against all earth creatures including ourselves. I have read too much Neruda and Camus, Carolyn Forche (Against Forgetting: 20th Century Poetry of Witness) other poets of resistance and feel too much of the pain of the earth and her creatures not to applaud and prompt others to do the same if it is possible, and it not I hold no grudge, we can only do what we can. I respect that and the call to name the crimes our children and grand children will pay for and denounce us for not doing something to stand up for them, protect them from the evils of greed, imperialism, capitalist corporatist globalism, religionism, insane technologism/ crackpot scientism, hate, prejudice, pathological narcissism that is raping and pillaging our earth home for profit that has already stolen our souls, abducted our minds, frozen our hearts so few feel the agony that fills the air with its cries, the streets with innocent blood, our minds with putrid ideas of grandiosity, when our bones and bodies hold the grandeur of life, life that already belongs because it exists, life that exists as gift of the hospitality of the cosmos, the ecological wonder that still surrounds to be here as good guests, care takers of the abundance already granted, and be here as inhabitants within the dialogue of worlds connected as kin to each other, relatives of our genes all, everyone. well, there you have it Abdul, the heart pulse of my passionate stance. Courage and Care be with you and all others!

Gertrude Aba Wonderful craft. The highest form of knowledge is self knowledge. We all need to search for our true identity. Lol and our wallets too.
    I enjoyed this.

I agree with you, to often (I must confess that I am guilty as well) we simply write one or two nice phrases and move on. This is wholly unfair, as the poet often puts in hours of concentrated time and effort and a part of their soul into the poem. In this poem, the message is clear, and concise. It lacks imagery or symbolism; but the lack of these elements do not take away from the poem. They reinforce the practical nature of the poem. The poem's infrastructure is symmetrical and balanced. The meter is fast and easy to read. A good poem.

>≫≫I Want To Die

Heavenly cursed and heavily sinned I
No more i like to add them, so, I want to die
And I want to become a holy ghost
Whom the people would like the most.
Like the retreating soldiers I like to come back
To my own permanent and eternal home
You may call it a suicide or martyrdom.

In my real home I see the news
Coming from the lipstick coated lips
In the television of my molten death
People are sobbing with a heavy breath.
The atmosphere is heavy and they feel the pain
This thrills me and gives a feeling of gain.

The Holy Hymn

I beg to thee
I pray to thee.
The most gracious, the most merciful,
The most pious, the most beautiful.
I seek to thee
I heed to thee.
The most sustainer, the most cherisher
The most preserver, the most destroyer.
The owner of the worlds
