Prelude To Rain
Daybreak: monsoon clouds thicken, sail across the sky,
darkening its blue expanse, blotting out the eastern glow.
Hushed silence; a sudden boom, and rain comes down,
pattering against the window pane; I throw it open.
A mild shower slowly turning into a steady downpour,
breeze laden with sodden smell of earth wafting in,
a freshness blowing away torments of summer days
conjure up pictures of rain sowing seeds of hope.
