Mates Of The Dawn
On my way in a morning jog
I saw at a distance a silent dog.
As she drew nearer I saw another,
He was barking, ran hither and thither.
I came so close to the first canine,
She was looking at me with eyes so fine;
Dog, the other, was loving too,
But it came with the hullabaloo.
Something appeared slowly to separate
Me and the dog which was barking- a gate.
I realized- it was always there,
My big fright was a silly scare.
The first, I loved, but the more did I fear;
Nothing kept us apart, she was very near;
