Alice Parris Poems
In winter I fell In love. Your sad face
Far better It is To have Slumbered
Crackling branches, scorch-blackened thorns, blood-red berries mashed beneath indifferent feet.
Somber sonnets; Yellowed flowers, Dried hope, Fallen dreams,
Over-cast skies foretold my isolation. A veil reveals the breech between us.
I am No stranger To this Floating
A gray film covers The eyes of the Impoverished. Hopeless
Oh, worm Which Dieth not, Of hellish
I have Spent So much Time
Little Boy, What Are You Looking For?
Little boy with loose skin for Stockings and Bengay for Your stocking stuffers.
Do not Judge me With your Debauched brain.
We become Transformed In the Crucible
A brain plundered
Of wrong thinking.
