My Sister Is A Poet
My sister is a poet;
a good one, I must say.
She loves to read and write
verses every day.
I've always loved to read
the poems that she'd write.
But others like to learn them,
and so, to recite.
She is the only poet
on our family tree,
though some would like to argue
that the other is me.
Now, I am not a poet;
but I like to doodle.
And all beyond that,
for me, is likely futile.
Lately the world seems to be
spinning faster by the day.
Some hold on
while others fall away.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Gone. Gone. Gone.
Some give up,
while others hold on.
Where it will lead us?
I don’t know.
But along for the ride
We all must go.
