Fifteen years later he sat there at a small table
In that lunch spot he'd remembered
With his back blocking the sun and the traffic.
His sandwich sat in front of him like an excuse.
She glided in to join the line with new music in her step.
Grace had filled her life in ways not imagined.
Years ago she had run from the fear of feeling alive,
Seeking safety in its place.
Now alive with a rhythm from within,
She turned with her sandwich to see him sitting there.
How safe he seemed now.
Had he been like Clementine where now there was a Spotless Mind? ...
