Ariadne Biography

Ariadne (Greek Αριάδνη), in Greek mythology (Latin Ariana), was daughter of King Minos of Crete and his queen, Pasiphaë, daughter of Helios, the Sun-titan. She aided Theseus in overcoming the Minotaur (actually her half-brother) but was equally the bride of the god Dionysus.

It was great reading this information about the origin of my name. Two years ago, while on vacation in Madrid, I met a local shop owner called Ariadna, the first non-Greek woman I've ever met with the same name. A very pleasant surprise for both of us.
