Arsiema Berhane tells truth, but truth is distressing to the pampered, indifferent mass consciousness of the West. Arsiema's poetic skills are second to none, but the message and intense emotion of the verse astound and humble the comfortable dwellers in (temporary) asylum of consensus reality.

Politics of Life... loved it! What a great commentary on the truths that embrace us as human beings, that no matter the pain and suffering we endure, here we are still, fighting for our hearts to keep beating when the possibility of that uninvited guest becomes a reality. You're very, very talented!

I have been going through your poems and am impressed by the diversity of subject matter and the different techniques and personae you experiment with. Nearly all the poems are well crafted and tightly written with no wasted words and the situations and subjects well and thoughtfully observed. I think they show real talent. Keep them coming :)

Some wanted to call him Tarzan
I called him Rex
My sister who is into books and stuff
Named him Malcolm X
My other younger sister called him Fofi
A tribute to our late dog
I didn’t really mind ‘bout the name
Doesn’t it sound a little like coffee?
My younger brother called him Undertaker
Name of his favorite wrestler
I really loved this name, but mother was like
“Come up with something else, this is ...
