    I read all the poems you've put on line here, and very much appreciate the grounded way in which you use images and sustain metaphors. Your sensibility reminds me somewhat of Robert Frost, who also took Nature as his book of metaphors. I hope to read more of your poems.

The Cherry Pit

I eat a cherry in one bite,
dismiss the stem, the pit,
and do not think about
the tree that grew to fruitfulness,
about the seasons and the handicaps-
the rain, too much, too little,

The farmer with a cautious eye,
the orchard with competing claims
