Lost In My Winter
Outside my world there is some fog and grey skies.
The air is chilly and cold with frost outlining the trees.
Chimney smoke unfurls and gently flows into the fog
It is quiet, peaceful, except for the howl of an occasional dog.
My window provides a view into another world outside.
Away from the warmth, the cheeriness found here inside.
It is easy to hide here, be comfy and content.
Escape from reality to an extent
But I can not hide from my world forever,
It hurts when I see and discover,
What is really living inside of me,
The heart that is cold and frosty.
You see I live in that world outside that window,
Away from the warmth that others know.
Walking alone, with cold feet and no shelter.
The sun, the warmth, I once knew, is lost in my winter.
