On The Street

A lonely girl on the streets
At the age of three
Watched her parents be defeat
Found by a couple who let her be

A criminal by thirteen
Narked on by a friend
Sent to prison and became a scene
She met a boy and her career came to an end

She learnt right from wrong
And she learnt to fight
She had a gift of song
She had found hope and held it tight

The boy she met was now a man
Together they stayed
Through thick and thin
Their love never frayed
And never again to fall into sin
