Howling Wolves

The stars
Were all she had
for company that night,
Wolves could be heard
from the Black Hills beyond

She heard,
wolves howled if they could see
The yellow moon,
But for some other reasons,
She felt a connection,
as if those howls were a warm comfort,
In end, she did not know why,

Now,
the call was louder,
and Mother Nature during nights
would not exhibit patience,
it was strange,
she did not speak

Now at this time and place,
it was the moon
and her children, the wolves,
who owned the night.
