Bharati Nayak.... A legendary poetess from poemhunter, India. Her poetry is simple but heart-touching. Her observations are so minute, she establishes truths out of the thin air. Her appraisal of poetry is so nice and her humility is visible everywhere. Her regular appraisal of all the leading poets makes her a popular figure. Peace is her intrinsic aim which she tries to emphasize in her verses. I wish her great success in life.

Bharati Ma'am is the only great poetess in this PH brotherhood whom I secretly call APA, a sweet respectful call for one's own elder sister in my family tradition. Since the days of my interactions in PH, I have always felt a magnetism in her words that finally drove me to read her biography one day. I had always wanted to know about her without hurting her pride as well as privacy.
Had I not gone through her bio page I would always be guessing that my Apa might have a nice family, somewhere settled abroad. Today I went through all the details I wanted and that too through her pen.
One day I would like to write something literarily about her.
These lines are the first lines that come from within at the first meet.
    Thank you Ma'am once again.

I read a poem of yours first, then this bio. You express two things in it I resonate with.

One, I too feel disappointment when there is no bio.

Two, I too like to think of myself aa a global citizen. In the Judeo-Christian tradition I identify with, we are encouraged to pray not selfishly with the pronoun I, but for we and us. And this, I think, is what God intends, the God who loves the world, who loves us all.

Thank you for taking the risk of telling something about yourself.

With you in our shared humanity,

    Glen Kappy

What an amazing poetess, I just read... a poem for my daughter....I was totally captivated and pulled into the poem as if I was there at the moment of writing, wow! ! ! The ending of the poem is one of the most perfect endings to a poem I have ever read, bravo my friend...bravo! ! ! !

Bharati's poetic touch is sure and her ability to stir thoughtful reflection and emotions is unsurpassed. What beautiful imagery she has placed before us, what lovely encouragement she has offered us. What gentle, soothing pieces of wisdom reside in the hearts of so many of her poems. How can we not enjoy poetry straight from the gentle, soothing, wise soul of our Bharati. When I finished the first poem of hers that I ever read, I said this has got to be the best of show! ! Then I read Poem #2, and I said oh! this must be best of show- it is absolutely setting me out in the rain. Then I read poem #3, and saw the peace and quiet of a cow swishing its tail in the shade of a tree and I sighed happily and said, ahhhhhhh this is the best of show! Poem #4 flirted with me with its sunbeams and rainbows and then Poem #5 nailed me with its twilight.loveliness! Pick a poem, any poem, and enjoy the heart and mind shimmering beneath the lines of a Bharati poem.

You are a great Lyrical poet and your empathy with nature warms our hearts. As Fabrizio says there is a wisdom in your work and your influence is deeply moving.

I Speak Not

I speak not
As I feel
Speaking is not essential
Silence speaks for itself
Even eyes speak
Speak thousand words my quivering lips
Unsaid words travel million miles
Sun speaks
Moon speaks
Speaks the thunderstorm
When hearts meet
Mouth says no words
Only the closeness knows
How louder is the heart
When it beats
Beating the loudness of sea-roars.
