since my PH friend Brier Johnston suggested/ordered me to look (again) at his bio, after i had made some mention of it to him, i did, EVEN THOUGH I HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO [pick my toenails; scrape-chalk-irritatingly over chalk boards (maybe only 'old' people will understand that): sort through my underwear drawer to find a CLEAN pair], i dropped what i was doing (ouch!) and hurried to his BIO (HE used capitals for 'bio' in HIS message/order) .
now, i didn't mind skimming over what i just read lately, but when i came to the new stuff he had added, i was somewhat shocked to find he had added the following:

    12. OK, Brier Edwards complained that I'm a whinny K*** A** when people say they are going to put one of my poems in the 'Most Favorite Poem' category and then don't do it.

well, I MAY BE OLD [not as old though as HE claims to be; also i don't mention that i have short-term memory problems (as he mentions about himself) since i think whatever problems i have are minor and probably due to reading too much of what Brian has written], but i TRULY believe the 'brain' has a self-preservation element which allows/forces it to forget some things that are better forgotten! ! ! ! now what was i going to say? oh, yeah, it is about brian's bio add-on about Brier Edwards (i assume that is supposed to be ME, his PH 'friend') .

    THE ITEM ABOUT me IS TOTALLY FABRICATED! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

    1. i never complained of any such thing as BJ being a whinny[sic] K***A**. actually he may well be a whiny kiss ass (whinny is a sound made by a horse, you dumb farmer! ! !) , BUT, be that as it may, i never called him that. you can open my head and look at my memory bank; then look at his (if he has one) . maybe the NSA has proof that i never said it?

    2. i don't recall ever discussing the subject with him which he mentions. by the way i believe he means MyPoemList, not Most Favorite Poem category. i KNOW brian is out for fun, among other things, on PoemHunter, but sometimes he goes TOO FAR. i shall, regretfully, be contacting my lawyerS in the morning! ! ! !

P.S. don't think your lawyer can get you off just 'cause you misspelled my name!

I LOVE YOU BECAUSE....... indeed love poems have always fascinated meas it is one of the most wonderful gift offered to us by our creator. Mr. Johnston has simply elaborated his feelings about it in simple and comprehensible diction. Like Langston Hughes, he has employed short lines to put across his message. Well done great poet!

Brian Johnson is one of the most gifted, honest and knowledgeable poets alive today. I am bountifully blessed and highly honored to have him as a poetic mentor and friend!

There has been another passing of note besides the poet Maya Angelou who, though grievously wounded by life, bounced back to assert her place in Poetry's Hall of Fame and in the hearts of us all. The poet Beauteous Victory, who graced Poemhunter with her passion and her pain has also vanished from our lives, but far more grievously. We do not know her real name, can not commiserate personally with her anymore, or speak to her shared heart by writing poems to her poems. The only part of her that lives now on Poemhunter for any of us now are the 3 poems that she shared with Neethu Panicker and myself that she was not able to erase, and did not ask us to take down.

Beauteous Victory too was a black woman with great heart, a poet who achieved the upper echelons of Poemhunter's popularity poll. Though we may never know her fate, her voice abides in our hearts. She is now and will be missed. She is now and will be still loved for many years by her friends on Poemhunter.

College: The Sandcastle

The child played on the shore all day,
Preferring fortress peace to boat,
The noon-bright gulls knifed waves of air,
Blurs in the brief expanse of moat.

One tower rose, a stubby knot,
The grand gate, scratches on a wall,
And no bridge spanned the moat at all,
For sea had cleaned the beach of clay.
