Highly intelligent and creative, he is also imaginative and colorful with charm and personality; his insight into other peoples' poetry is also immaculate. A great poet, thinker, and connector.

I am baffled when poets like Chito Faustino delete their poems from Poem Hunter and deprive their readers from reading such beautiful poems.

Chito has a mellowed voice. Appreciation for the simple things in life, sadness and tender love all flow into his tranquil poetry. He seems to brood over people, life and death, and artfully captures his thoughts in his work. An exceptional Poet, who makes those less gifted with pen and paper, yearn to tap into his skills.

This man is an incredibly eloquent poet. His poems embrace the reader and never fail to absorb you into its environment.

Andy's Gone With Cattle

Our Andy's gone to battle now
'Gainst Drought, the red marauder;
Our Andy's gone with cattle now
Across the Queensland border.

He's left us in dejection now;
Our hearts with him are roving.
It's dull on this selection now,
Since Andy went a-droving.

Who now shall wear the cheerful face
In times when things are slackest?
And who shall whistle round the place
When Fortune frowns her blackest?

Oh, who shall cheek the squatter now
When he comes round us snarling?
His tongue is growing hotter now
Since Andy cross'd the Darling.

The gates are out of order now,
In storms the `riders' rattle;
For far across the border now
Our Andy's gone with cattle.

Poor Aunty's looking thin and white;
And Uncle's cross with worry;
And poor old Blucher howls all night
Since Andy left Macquarie.

Writing a poem is not about bringing some words together to create some charming sentences. It's so much deeper than that. Writing poetry is a bridge that allows people to express their feelings and make others live every single word they read. Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Writing poetry is to help this community better understand life and live it more passionately. PoemHunter.com contains an enormous number of famous poems from all over the world, by both classical and modern poets. You can read as many as you want, and also submit your own poems to share your writings with all our poets, members, and visitors.
