Biography of Carl Harris

Carl Harris poet

Born of the eve of American participation in World War
II, the eldest of four children, I was fortunate to grow up during an interesting time in history. By the time I was a teen, I was writing both fiction and poetry and have kept at it, on and off, ever since. I served in the military, our Air Force, and saw duty with NATO in Europe, both in Holland and Germany, and visited many European countries at that time. Several of my poems were published in military publications and two were translated into German and published in a German magazine. Shortly after my return to the US, I married and raised three children, and now am a grandfather to six children, five girls and a boy. In February of 2008, a book of my poetry called 'Memories Of You And Other Poems' was published by Mad Jock Publishers of Liverpool, England. On July 1st, my poem, 'Tender Memories of You' was judged the first place winner in the international poetry contest sponsored by Mad Jock Publishing, of Liverpool, England. A second book of poems, 'Star Crossed Dreams', also published by Mad Jock Publishers, was released in November of 2008.
