Pre-dawn is a strange and quiet place
between parchment moon
and singing pines.
Smooth wind a mysterious fortune teller
caresses green arms wrapped through
chain link in hopes of a perfect red.
The trellis enticing moon flowers
to ascend. Unfold like white moths
seeking the fire of celestial bodies.
I write questions in the sand. Intricate
symbols tattoo'd to earth skin. Etched
between slender wooden bone.
Wonder if your eyes have learned
my affinity for flowers. For subtle shifts
movement and symbolism.
