Biography of Colleen Kay Hutchins

Colleen Kay Hutchins (May 23, 1926 – March 24, 2010), a native of Salt Lake City, Utah was crowned as Brigham Young University Homecoming Queen in 1947. In 1952, she was crowned as Miss America.

She was the sister of basketball player Mel Hutchins, the mother of former NBA player Kiki Vandeweghe, and grandmother of 2008 US Open - Girls Singles winner Coco Vandeweghe.

She resided, until her death, with her husband Ernest Vandeweghe in Indian Wells, California. She died on March 24, 2010 in Newport Beach, aged 83. Updates
