Biography of Dee Shaffer
I am an English Major at Pensacola Christian College. I hope to graduate in the fall of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Minor in Journalism. I love to write! I have currently written several short stories and am finishing my first novel. I really want to publish my collection of Poems 'Songs of the Lost, ' and and working dilligently on a companion collection 'Songs of the Redeemed'. I want most of all to become an accomplished writer, and have been working for sometime on a children's book I hope to publish soon. Some of my poems are a little depressing, but every poet has their moments, right? Hope to hear from you if you read my stuff. I hope you like what you read, if not try someone else. ;)

The stars fall, dark clouds weep and the sky rumbles around me. Here I am, alone again. Empty, cold, alone… Waves crash against my heart, my soul is turbulent It feels like a tempest inside, and yet I still feel empty, alone…
The dark of the night consumes me,
My tears fall like rain on the water.
Why have you left me here in the cold?
Where endless dark consumes what is left of my soul.
I see the glint in your eyes,
The selfish glint of pride and laughter
As you walk away I’m gritting my teeth to bare it,
Now I lie in the dark, the swirl of mist has
