3 Doors

Prologue:
Three doors on her right,
Her eyes obediently closed,
Three doors tightly shut,
To lock her past out.

Behind door one:
New to this world,
But already she is to blame,
Forever knowing, forever guilt,
Her mother’s death is her fault.

Behind door two:
Barely a decade wise,
Her life she has to start over,
The social worker took her,
This time alcohol to blame

Behind door three:
She is virtually legal.
Desperate to escape this life.
Nobody can take this torture,
She is his daughter, not his wife.
