Biography of Dorta Jagic
Dorta Jagic (1974) was born in Sinj. She writes poetry, short prose pieces, essays an travelogues. Since 1999 she has been involved with various amateur theatre groups as a director and educator. She is an author of six poetry collections and tree short stories volumes. She lives as a freelance writer and translator in Zagreb, Croatia.
Awards: Goran Award for young poets,1999; The Balkan Grand Prize for Poetry, Romania,2007, Europian Poet of Freedom Award, Poland,2014.

In times when folks still ate soil and were happy and bodily clean without touching water there was no moon in the sky because it was fused with the rivers.

folks began to drink water simply beacuse
it was forbidden
and at nighttime they drank up all the moonlight.
next morning they woke up mortal, watery and dirty
