With big songs
In branching melodies.
Like an umbrella of wings,

Nothing solid.
A gurgling coil
Being sucked

Fences.
They sprout like weeds.
The thorny kind.
Thistles in the way.

Beware of the meat cutter,
The glint carved into his eyes.
He sees three.
Isn't that odd?

We are all actors
On our own small stages.
The props fickle in our minds
With pieces falling to the floor.
