Biography of Edward Hammer

These poems are were written instead of a journal for a grief/bereavement session I attended after my wife passed away on 9-6-2004. She died from breast cancer and I am struggling with this loss. We were married 30 yrs and aside from being my wife, she was my best friend.

A daydream can open such wonderful things
Wash away pain that horribly stings
Forget for a moment the life I am in
Think of the things that might have been

Grab for a thought that helps the day
To make sense of my life in some special way
To get me through what I think I may not
These thoughts I need but have not forgot
