His Real Face
When others see him, they admire
His looks, his clothes, his face.
They like the way he talks and laughs
About the latest race.
They like to be around him.
They do not see his real face.
He knows that others like him,
With the mask he always wears.
So always he keeps it on his face.
To take it off he would not dare.
Others like the mask, he knows.
They do not see his real face
Though others don't see through the mask,
It's all that he can see.
When he looks in a mirror, a window, a pond,
He can hardly believe
That the mask covers up ...
