Fire

Fire Poem

I am the way in the darkness,
The friend in the grate,
The enemy that roars,
What wild things hate

The beacon that signals,
The phoenix’s final cry,
The heart of the engine,
A widow’s last goodbye

I seep from the depths
To cleanse the earth
And shine in the heavens
Giving life new birth

The gold you can’t touch
Bursting jewels beyond the pyre
Ally and enemy
Inferno. I am fire
