No One

The house is deserted now -
No one stalks the corridors.
Each crevice is cold and damp
As a quiet breeze of solitude
Nestles down to sleep.
Time has become a captive:
A frozen portrait on the wall.
No longer is the journey
Down the empty passageways -
The daily ritual-executed.
The air has grown stagnant,
And years weigh heavily
Over those who trespass
And dare to dream of antiquity.
There is no past; no memories.
Only a silent vacuum fills the void.
