Comments about Erin Soh
Ripped away from your quilt of a continent
I am once again an island;
A solitary piece of patterned cloth
Scarred by loose threads, drowned in frothy wool.
I see you from afar
Pecking away like you always do.
You eat with new people
Mere acquaintances, but useful
Charmed by worn witticisms
They are sewn on with the rapidity
That is exceeded only by the
Darting of your eyes
When they encounter mine.
You leave, I remain
A leftover from your plate.
