As a writer of poetry, I am influenced by Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton who brought to us a brand of confessional poetry that has always been impactful in my life. I believe as a follower of Christ to be confessional is biblical and necessary (1 John 1: 9-10) . As a Christ follower I think it is necessary to understand the impacts of my sin and the choices I make. This poetic journey will bring the reader into this working to understand life and sin and eventually salvation and redemption in Christ. Underlying all that follows is an underpinning of what the Bible teaches us about salvation. This is an important fact, yes this is art, but it is also biblically and theologically sound that can perhaps in new ways teach us about the process of salvation (ordo salutis) . It speaks of a way of organizing all the events of redemption in the consecutive order that they show up in an individual's life (as revealed in the bible) when the repentant sinner, saved through faith and grace (Ephesians 2: 8) is joined to Christ.
