The flaws in others in ourselves we do see
And I dislike in them what I dislike in me
The weaknesses in others are not hard to find
But most in their own ways can be very kind

'Tis a word that's heavily loaded and not a word to under-rate
And they should not be taken lightly those who do use the word hate
In their reference to others those they do claim to dislike
The word hate is like an adder with head raised ready to strike

We hear so much of late of Corporate crime
Some far better 'twould seem in jail serving time
Than some who make millions by guile and deceit
They know how to lie and they know how to cheat

The past has gone that much we know
The past is gone and lost forever
And in the past we cannot stay
Though from the past we cannot sever.

Around Halls Gap in Gariwerd with roo mobs them you see
The introduced red deer there living wild and free
Not as plentiful as grey kangaroos and yet by no means rare
Of danger posed by man and dog they seem all too aware

After eleven years as Prime Minister it does seem quite strange
That John Howard the ageing politician is talking of climate change
But this after all is an Election year
And of losing the top job is now his greatest fear.

Have you ever felt so despondent that in public you choke back the tears
And mentally you feel deflated you haven't felt this way for years
You feel that the World is against you of any hope in your life you despair
Remember there are many like you and people like you are not rare.

He was the young dad of the sixties he is the old man of today
Married and divorced for the third time that's life as some are known to say
He is seven times a great grandfather one might say his flock multiply
And he is not yet finished with women he says he will give marriage at least one more try,

The weather cold and overcast in the middle of July
And cold jack frost blows with his chilly breath across the Winter sky
And in Kyneton, Trentham and Daylesford they have had a fall of snow
And the temperatures at zero and the weather glass is low

Why disrespect those we see as different and why call them out of name
For the unrest in the World today no one side is to blame
It was a wise one who first said two wrongs never make a right
Most people with real power in the World are lacking on insight
