Frank James Ryan, Jr. is a generous and talented member of the community. His praise has encouraged others, and his poetry is quite worthy of praise.

I seldom check my 'comments, ' but Frank has praised the best of my works. If I try to post a comment upon a poem I admire, Frank has generally beat me to the punch.

Hey.... what can I say that hasn't already been written about this great man? I just want to add my thanks and support for someone who I have found a joy to have come to know via PH! His poetry is second to none, I can't miss a single posting..... but beyond all of that... it's the warmth of the character that comes through and leaps out of the page. I positively beam when I read one of FJR's comments and so just wanted to say THANKS and good on you Frankie! Long may we read the delights of your work...... HG: -) xx

Frank - I think you could be the lovechild of William Blake and Emily Dickinson...who said I couldn't access your comments page? Respect. Michael.

Just caught the 300 Frank. What 's to say that aint been said, I ask myself? Well you know the old gaff about, 'They broke the mould when they made him! ', nah. Not FJR, they broke the mould before, ya big crack-pot, and thank whoever for it. Long may you buck the trend, my friend, write without restriction and deliver all your poetic contributions to a deserving throng. Positive minds for neutral times, here's to a guy I'm sick of tenning, due mainly to his superior penning!

Following the bouncing ball would be easier to do than trying to figure out what Frank is going to write about next. Never one to get on one subject and write over and over about the same thing, his range of subject matter is just awesome. From
love, to Bonnie and Clyde, to the night life of New York, he covers it all, and does it so well. Don't miss out on this fantastic writer, because if you do, it will be your loss.

As another PH fan I can't help but feel like there's more. Friendship made here w/ this awesome poet has made me laugh and smile. Hell, I'll ramble on and on... that's what this is here for...hehehe... =) It never fails when I log on to PH and see Franksters name on my screen my heart leaps w/ glee! (hey that rhymed lol) Anyways, Frank is always there lending his hand of encouragement and praise. A true friend indeed. His work... well some may say I'm biased... but he's quiet a master at the literary arts!

    Love ya Frankster!

  • Tara very irritated with PH injustice (6/15/2006 6:52:00 AM)

Frank is unusual. Nobody would disagree with that. To my mind Frank is unusually, and joyfully, a superb wordsmith. For all of us, writing pieces is a 'hit and miss' affair. Hit the right ones of Frank's and you're left thinking.....awesome. Anyone who misses out on this work is.... missing out.

I should point out that as a proud Scot I don't say this lightly, but Frank's poems have such a Celtic air about them. I'm not going to bore people by rambling on about how good this guy is (but he is) , so I'll just say...Frank, I love ya!

Best Poem of Frank James Ryan Jr (FjR)

' Emeralds And Black Diamonds...

Lie down lass, with me, in sage green meadows
Your blouse flouncing open, in the teasing breeze
The meadows, feel so cotton, this time of year
Come lay beside me, and sense my desires.

Open field, honeysuckle....arouses my yen
For passion 'neath th' sparkle by th' mid-noon sun
No clouds abide our scape of choice to pleasure
So, again I ask you lass, come lay beside me.

Come close, love, as these hungry emerald eyes
Beg to stare into your warm, black diamond eyes
Take my hand in bond, I assure you, my lov',
That emeralds and diamonds never fade ...
