Frank: You are both loved and respected here. You should not let two very narrow minded (supposed) poets chase you from this site, no matter how bad or mean their comments. Just remember that jealousy always rears it's ugly head by selfish mean people who wish they had one tenth the poetic genius contained in your one lone, pinky finger. People of this sort are always trying to rain on some one's parade. They only live to spoil all that is good and just. You don't need to consume their vile poisonous infections inside your soul.We should all learn to ignore their communistic type ramblings! You only make them happy if you leave.Make them unhappy and stay.Show them that their words don't mean anything valid. You'll devalue their ideals and ideas. You'll rise above their lowness in life. You'll always be better than them and thusly reveal their cowardness to all, by staying and standing your ground.Bury them beneath your feet, where they properly belong. That's the name of that song! May God only bless the good poets-MJG. (The good, they are not, those low-life two) .

You are one of my favorite heroes like Maya Angelou, Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe, and Langston Hughes. You write your words with expressions inside your heart and you also write your poetry with imaginations and depictions. I'm glad that you are my friend.

Frank is an immensely gifted writer and the pre-eminent wordsmith on this site. When writing straight from the heart his poems are as good as any here by any poet. One of the few writers capable of taking up Poe's challenge in 'My heart laid bare'. Best wishes always, Champion.

A reticent genius by the name MR. FRANK RYAN
The poetic Angelo, verses sculptured and designed
Made us addicted with poetic jewels attached
Shaped and graced the muses nine
So loyal to his supporters, and a true reader
    Heartedly praised with immaculate brilliance
All themes covered, no seasons left
For the creation and chiseling of your fans

We’ll miss the starlight you had us gain.

I don't know who POET WATCH is, for they haven't the guts to use a real identitiy, but whoever 'it' is, is a total and complete idiot. Frank is one of the very best writers on this site, with more loyal followers than anyone else on here, and he does not need to manipulate any stats to prove that. He is competitve, yes, and wants to be the best he can be as a writer and as a man...but he doesn't need to wiggle and jiggle the stats to prove himself.

His writing proves his ability and Frank, himself, proves his person.

Your writings are masterpieces in portraiture. It seems
you have moved beyond certain forms of consciousness
and gone to places, of rare artistic sensibility.

Your writing, by far, is some of the finest
of its kind, I have ever read.

Frank's poems are blocks of busters.... eye see movies in every one (what was yesterday - Honorary Frank Day?)

  • Peter Grasso (3/22/2008 5:53:00 PM)

W.H.Auden, once said, 'All works of art are commissioned in the sense that
no artist can create one by a simple act of will but must wait until what he
believes to be a good idea for a work comes to him.'

If that be true, and I believe
it is, it appears that many good ideas have come to you.
    Your writing...is really outstanding.

Frank James Ryan Jr. is a classic wordsmith.
Words are his tools, and he is a craftsman.
He is capable of writing what he wishes to
write and this is a gift not given to many.
His creativity is vibrant and alive as are
his descriptions of the scenes of life he
illuminates with his pen. By so doing,
he provides a lamp unto the world for
    all who would see.

FJR is a writer whose work I frequent and entirely enjoy. The reason for this is because he is able to pen on a variety of subjects and styles, from darkside to romance, to prose, editorial, sonnets, you name it.

He employs impeccable diction as well as his imagery that seems to bring the words off the page, into our minds eye to enjoy.

He is also a class gentlemen who comments with eloquence and honest critique and I consider it a privelege to be a poem pal of his and I believe that he adds so much to this literary site!

    Thanks FJR!

    Lilly :)

' Emeralds And Black Diamonds...

Lie down lass, with me, in sage green meadows
Your blouse flouncing open, in the teasing breeze
The meadows, feel so cotton, this time of year
Come lay beside me, and sense my desires.

Open field, honeysuckle....arouses my yen
For passion 'neath th' sparkle by th' mid-noon sun
No clouds abide our scape of choice to pleasure
So, again I ask you lass, come lay beside me.

Come close, love, as these hungry emerald eyes
Beg to stare into your warm, black diamond eyes
Take my hand in bond, I assure you, my lov',
That emeralds and diamonds never fade ...
