Ginny Allen Poems
I Would Not Have You Grieve For Me Today
I would not have you grieve for me today Nor weep beside my vacant chair, Could you but know my daily portion here, You would not, could not, wish me there.
And I shall bring you Flowers, pink and white.. Spicy-sweet, Tulips bright, and
I saw horses walk from the sea, Dripping wet, tossing green foam, Bearing gifts in their long, golden eyes. Lips curled 'round an invisible bit,
And I shall bring you
Flowers, pink and white..
Tulips bright, and
We will plant them near the maples,
Where the soil is chocolate dark and
Sunlight filters thro to mark
The lazy bees.
