Henry L. Jones
Biography of Henry L. Jones
In winter of 2009, I published RUN INTO BLACKNESS: FEELING MY POETIC GUMBO (Pneuma Publishing International, Inc.) . This is my first book of poetry after years of seeing my poetry published in other work. RUN INTO BLACKNESS contains many poems I've written over the years about personal and historical experiences.
I was the strange child with big brown eyes who looked deeply into a person's face. I became a man who now uses his eyes to see beyond the veil.

Waiting By The Shore
I stare at myself in the mirror
Hoping to find the face of a child
Return that feeling of immortality
To ease my sore back and shoulders
Their stiffness tells me that Death’s
Passion will soon fill me with desire
To see another world where I will rest
Along some shore with only the memories
Of the loved ones who I left behind.
