In the beginning she heard his voice melodious
And following that dreamy sound came suddenly upon him
Richly garbed down by the hawthorn hedge
How handsome and proud against that newly emerging emerald green backdropp he was
So full of the joys of Spring amidst the half uncurled buds
He catching her eye was moved to cease in his oratory
And gracefully moving to her side
Asked that she would dance with him
