The World Sleeps

The world, helpless, unwillingly is disintegrated
Her beauty, with the passage of time, less appreciated
Unaware of how it used to be, relentlessly we built
Beauty destroyed and yet we remain free of guilt
The world becomes smaller, this we call innovation
Our reasons are selfish, we lack vindication
Earth has no justice, no courtroom to sentence
But naive we are to think she will not have her vengeance
