Wow, to look at your poem is truly wonderful, Im sorry that you have felt such pain before, but the creativity you have is something else. Clearly you do deserve more praise than you believe. I hope to one day read your stuff in a book. Keep doing a wonderful job.

You seem to be very fond of 'death'. You write brilliantly, i hav shills wen I read your death poems and find myself in a dark, deep, cold environment. You should definitely make a book! That would be excellent!

please ignore comments of that jealous child, 'Dave'. You have courage and talent and from Denmark we say bravo to you. you are special, never doubt this. you will go far in sucess and kindness.
be proud of your talent which is from such a young man with ideas bigger than any giant.

Ordinarily, I would think it stuck-up to leave a message on my own message board, but in this case, i'm going to make an exception. I'm doing this solely as an answer to Dave S.'s comment, below.

I must ask that anyone who reads that comment and thinks for a moment of taking that man seriously (as i did, at first- plagiarism is a serious matter) click on his name and read the other comments he has left to other poets. It is important to take nothing out of context, after all. Dave seems, upon examining his track record, to be the rudest librarian who has ever lived, if he is in fact a librarian.

In answer to the 'charge' of plagiarism, all i have to say is, if he were willing to point out which poem was stolen, or even give me some proof of plagiarism, i would be the first person to denounce it. But the fact remains that Dave hides himself behind his computer screen, totally devoid of any proof, or any life.

I'm disgusted at people who live to make fools out of themselves while insulting other people.

James, sorry you didn't like my stuff- I write in the tradition of the underground poets: Bukowski, Ginsberg, James Carroll- Yes, mostly my poems have strong sexual themes, but this explicit sex is often meant as symbolism of a society in moral failure- If you'd read more you'd see that what my poems are about are the lack of true life in America's Middle-class value system, while your poems are more along the traditional lines of Christian love and loss- and acceptance of a system which has failed to embrace true artistic expression- Many of your poems do this well - I've received awards for my poetry, been published in local mags, and have an MA in English Literature from FSU- I also have tons more poems and have just discored this site- Anyway, your stuff is good too ;) Later... dude

James, may I just say how much I enjoy your poems.
The lyricism, the music of the mind, the breadth of the mind...OK that's enough for one email...hope you go on writing - in and out of love!

    Slightly enviously,
    Michael

Freedom Is Never Free

They tell me
'Freedom is never free.'
I know that-
More than most realize.
Freedom cost us more
Than we should have to give.
Freedom cost us blood.
It cost us the lives
Of our fathers,
Our sons,
Our brothers.
But while freedom is never free,
Remember-
It has been bought at great price,
And so is a thing of great value.
We must defend it,
From those who would take it away.
The defense of our freedoms
Will cost us-
More than we wish to pay.
But we must pay, to defend,
For if we try to make freedom free,
We forget-
True ...

Love At First Sight

I didn't know you, but
When I saw you, I loved you.
I knew nothing of who you were, but
As I got to know you, I loved you.
In a matter of days you grabbed my attention,
And as we quickly drew close,
I would have- willingly-
Given my heart. Ah fool! For the giving,
Too quickly, too easily!
