Jan Elemans Poems
Oil And Steel
Seized from the depths, Refined to oil and steel. Cold to the touch, Slippery to the feel.
Life is a rollercoaster, A guarantee for a bumpy ride, Once it starts rolling, There is no way you can hide.
Peace has lost track, Of time and place, Now increasing population, Reduced our living space.
Apparel we washed, Garments we dried. Without any stain, Until our functions died.
The veil of night, Lingers over the land. Its damp cold bite, Penetrates every strand.
The seeing eye, Looking down upon earth. Judging all from birth, Till the day we die.
Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder
In things warm, touchable, in broad daylight, In things cold, deep in darkness, out of sight, In things infinitely vast or microscopically small, In things where you expect it least of all.
Our daily fruit, Hovering in the air. It's mesmerizing power, Forced me to stare.
Break Of Day
The first rays of light, Victorious! After a dark fight.
The seeing eye,
Looking down upon earth.
Judging all from birth,
Till the day we die.
There is no way we can hide,
From it’s inquisitive stare.
But, with a conscience clean and fair,
We may face it with pride.
