Darkness creeps like a blanket of roaches
It consumes everything in its path regardless of the protections laid forth
The great hall we hide in is sparsely lit with torches to hold back the the threat
We hide in corners away from one another
Afraid of the intentions of others
One stands up and tries to gather us all to construct a great door to bar the entrance
Their speech falls on deaf ears as the corner-dwellers bemoan their plight and worry about their own kin
