Biography of Jennifer Barnard

I'm married - a grandmother - I love irony and satire in poetry. I've been writing for about ten years - I've performed my poetry in pubs, at concerts, on buses, to friends - foes - I love challenges in writing - many lemons
have come by me - I've tried to turn them into creative lem
ade - I'm working on expanding language as much as I can -an
interest in American poetry is burgeoning.I love Richard Wilbur - his 'Love calls us to the things of this world'
still inspires and thrills me.

I would like to co-respond with fellow poets who would
like to offer helpful criticism of my poetry. I'm not thin
skinned(I hope)

'First Blue' Updates

Clenched jaw and heart
I rattle down the dumb street.
Neighbours fetch letters,
smooth pat doggy heads
play their hoses on wilting flowers
while laughing and yelling at their kids.

I consider the flow of ordinary things;
tomorrow, a certainy of frenzy
issue from a hundred canine throats.
