That's what makes us who we are.
We all have a talent or gift,
That will some day take us far.

My parent is proudly serving our country,
In order to keep so many of us free.
There are a lot of sacrifices that they’re making,
And I know the risks that they’re taking.

I've watched you grow from a child,
Into the adult that you are today.
You used to be so reckless and wild,
And you have come such a long way.

My love is still just as strong for you,
As it was on the day that we said “I Do”.
And my love for you continues to grow,
And I try every day to let you know.

The soldier gives the right to bear arms,
By carrying a weapon of his own in War.
The soldier keeps us all safe from harm,
By defending us on a foreign shore.

When you look upon a tombstone,
Two numbers seem to stand alone.
The year upon this earth they arrived,
And the second was when they died.

Lightning never strikes the same place twice,
So never pass up a chance worth taking.
Try risking your hand and roll the dice,
It just may be history on the making.

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the camp,
The soldiers had changed out of clothes that were damp.
Our weapons were slung and held at the ready,
Although it was Christmas we still stood rock steady.

As I follow in his footsteps, I know he’ll lead the way.
I get closer to heaven with every passing day.
I’m on the path of righteousness, leading toward the Lord.
Praying and listening as He speaks his mighty word.
