Walking In The Light

I saw a light from afar one day;
& since it seemed not far away
I thought I'd travel toward the light.
I soon found out it was too bright.
The light revealed my hidden sin;
& I began to hurt within
So I backed up until it stopped;
& a spirit on my shoulder hopped.
Said he; 'Twas the right thing you did
when from that misery you hid'.
But I was not convinced twas true;
& I knew what I had to do.
Into the light I bravely trod;
& then I found the peace of God
