By Chris DePalma (NY, USA) - I find it interesting how we are on two different paths, but yet I find I can relate to a lot of what you write. I guess it shows me the more I discover about us humans, the more I can see inner similarities in spite of the outward differences. I also think that our paths may look different on the outside, but it's really the same spiritual journey for each of us toward one God, however we see Him/Her. By Jim Breunig (Laurel, MD USA) - I found Joe's book refreshing, inspiring and a great change of pace from today's social environment. There's more violence than ever in the media - so it's uplifting to read something positive. As the title suggests, Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory is a spiritually based book. Although I am not a very religious person, I enjoyed the book because it's not overbearing with preaching or religion. This book contains poetic expressions of events and topics that everyone can relate to. These principled messages are good reminders of the simple things in life that we often take for granted. Also, I like the format of the book. Unlike a novel, where you may have a long chapter or no place for a good stopping point, this book is a compilation of short versed poetry. This enables you have a quick read while commuting, enjoying a coffee break, or anytime when having a few minutes to relax. Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory is a book you'll want to read again and again. Whenever you feel a little down, this book will take your mind off the annoying things in life to remind us of positive things and what's important. Footnote: I feel I should inform you that Joe is my oldest brother. My purpose in providing this fact is to show my honesty and credibility. Having spent many years serving as an army officer, my word is very important to me.

Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory by Joseph J. Breunig 3rd As reviewed by New York Times best selling author Ellen Tanner Marsh Any Christian surveying the current state of modern poetry could easily become discouraged, given that much of that poetry can only be categorized as nihilistic. At worst, such poems seemingly promote despair and violence—against society, the church, or even against oneself. At best, they consist of self-centered whining and overdramatic emotionalism, completely devoid of spiritual muscle and ethical backbone. New author Joseph J. Breunig 3rd, in his fine debut collection Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory, takes a fresh stride in the opposite direction, in a poetic compilation that should delight anyone who enjoys reading Christian literature as well as poetry. The book comprises over 100 poems of various lengths, although they generally do not exceed one page. In a slight concession to modern poetic style, some of the stanzas are unrhymed, yet all of them speak to Christian themes, such as faith and its testing, seeking a higher road, the state of grace, error and sin, biblical people and events, and personal redemption through God's word. A common thread that runs throughout the majority of the poems is that individuals —regardless of any mistakes they may have made in the past— can still turn to Christ as their savior and begin the slow, sometimes painful, but always positive process of redeeming themselves, in developing a new life filled with abundance and spiritual serenity. By reaching for this new and uplifting collection of Christian poems, readers can indeed begin reaching towards God's glory.
