A Tiny Cherub

God’s chariot had a tiny cherub driving
And he had broken wings so that meant no chance of flying
Falling, time stalling into stage of euphoria
His last vision of life had to be filled with war and love
A past image of lips that he was once pressed against
And pretty eyelashes fluttering like butterflies beautiful wings
There’s a symphony in his head but it plays a score of sorrow
And laughter and love and the knowing of no tomorrow
Happy thoughts, happy things, if it’s worth remembering
