Kathleen Ross poet

Born in 1916 during World War One, whilst father Percival was a P.O.W. in France. Middle daughter of three girls, Kathleen spent her early childhood on the Sussex coast and after father returned in 1918, the family moved to Stroud in Gloucestershire. Father was a self employed tailor and mother Alice ran a tea shop to make ends meet. After training as a nurse at Hammersmith Hospital, Kathleen married Alan Ross in 1939 and has six daughters. She was widowed in 1978.
