Haiku's simple verse
Shattering and pointed like
Glass shards laced with words.
Sonnet Of Lost Youth
Unbeknownst to all, within my soul
A fractured candle flickers and I strive
(reminding myself how it once was whole)
With verse to keep the fragile flame alive.
How fev'rish was the furnace that did roar
When youth's exuberance did fan the fire;
Upon updrafting currents did I soar;
Now circumstance and time a-march conspire
To suffocate the fire with cloaks of lead
