Blanket Of White

I looked outside into the out wheat field.
And what I saw caused my young heart to reel.
Mother Nature tucking the wheat in for the night.
Underneath a snowy blanket surrounded by white.

I threw on my warm clothing and flew down the stairs.
The sight of snow over ruled all worldly affairs.
Opened the front door and dashed into the night.
Danced in the snow flurries all fluffy and light.
