I desire to relate a few kernels about myself and share you with some thoughts on my approach to poetry.
Okay, I hate writing this stuff about myself. I'll come back to it!
So, I'll give you my favorite poem for now. It's called Self-Pity by DH Lawrence. And what's sad is I discovered this poem from a $1 Blockbuster Demi Moore video rental (perhaps, the only good thing about that particular movie) .
I'm very much new to poetry. I wrote my first 'real' poem in November 2007. And I'm experimenting with different forms, etc. Some poems, like Crazy Days, are very autobiographical, while others like 'Midnight Oil Blues', even though in the first person, address issues that trouble me or have gotten under my skin in some way.
And finally, some poems are those dreaded diary entries. You won't be moved poetically, you'll just share in bits and pieces of my life, be it a traffic stop, a headache, or simply frazzled nerves at an approaching part.
I deeply appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my works. And over time, I plan to read as many of other people's poems as I can.
If you see a line or an error in one of my poems, or just want to ask about its inspiration or suggest a change, shoot me an email. I enjoy a chance to ramble on about almost anything during my otherwise mad days of being a stay at home mom.
On an unrelated note, I'm ridiculously happy these days in my second marriage. It's been three years now and I think I've fallen deeper in love with my husband every day of each of those three years. I know it must be mad infatuation, because love can't feel so good.
Peace and harmony,
Lime & Tequila
