No splashing of water

Hears the wolf outside the walls
Shuddering as sheetrock falls
He’s coming in to shut her down
There goes tumbling her rhinestone crown

I seek in silence
What once was mine
A passion now absent
With the passing of time.

So wholly with experience

Brushed them back, tied smooth
My normally wild hair, look
Today like a professional,
Boring, conforming, contradicting

Daddy raised me to soften
The edges of my sharp tongue
Takes daily practice biting it
