Lovemore Lamwa

Near, Apart & Close

Companion of misery the night would be
If I take not union of word, from whence mine heart might be
Upon the thought, streams of chilly sweat flows
Frightened by muscles; of physical and mental fairness;
Alert am I to my strength, a mellow voice hath push

On a whirlwind is mine beloved
Couldn’t be the air I hug, am moved
Not the wall, I neither talk to; nor shed tears
