Biography of Mary Wright

I'm a mother of 2, grandmother of 6, and a college professor teaching Child Development. I started writing poetry about 10 years ago and loved learning about the poetry styles and process. I don't have the great talent of poets, but I love writing it anyway! I hope my writing is good enough to be on this site! I've alread read some beautiful poetry here! :)

Getting Better

I've always known of your disguise
And though I speak to you
Does not mean that you are real
But I would never disrespect you
By denying your presence or the
Power you have held over me
The choices, the really bad ones
Were mine to bear, not this empowered demon
Sitting on my shoulder
